Prof. Portinaro attended at the National Congress A.S.B.I. Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Association – Niguarda Milan

On the 15th and the 16th October 2016, during the Italian “Spina Bifida Awareness Month” promoted by ASBI Italia, A.S.B.I.N. (Associazione Spina Bifida Idrocefalo Niguarda – Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Association – Niguarda Milan) organized the “2016 National Meeting for Families”.

The meeting took place in Milan with a conference called “Spina bifida and the development of people, from rehabilitation to life”.

Prof. Nicola Portinaro attended the conference as moderator and he also gave a lecture on “The severe musculoskeletal deformities” where different clinical cases were presented and discussed.

The goal of the day was to compare the different experiences of the Italian Spina Bifida centers
in the management of some fundamental issues of patients affected by this congenital pathology.

Prof. Portinaro has a relevant experience in dealing with patients affected by Spina Bifida and other congenital neurological disorders, since he is the Founder and Scientific Director of Fondazione Ariel. Fondazione Ariel is an Italian non-profit organization for families with children affected by Cerebral Palsy and other neuromotor disabilities.
